The historic 19th century mansion at 270 Maple St., Springfield
A grand 19th century Victorian mansion with sweeping views of the Connecticut River Valley will be the setting for the June 26 Summer Enchanted Evening, a Girls Just Wanna Have Fun night of shopping, fashion, food, drink and music.
The evening will offer guests a rare chance to step inside the 30-room house on Springfield’s historic Maple St. Built in 1905, it was once home of the late Frederick H. Harris, a president of Third National Bank & Trust Co., and his wife Emily. Currently owned by Thomas Valentine, the mansion is on the market for $799,000. Shirley Simolari, a Realtor with Keller Williams is the listing agent.
Weather permitting, women will be able to stroll the grounds and see as far as the hills of the Berkshires. Raymour and Flanigan will provide patio furniture for the front porch of the house, where guests can sip a cocktail or enjoy a selection of hors d’oeuvres prepared by Auntie Cathie’s Kitchen of West Springfield, caterer for the event. Wine, sangria, sparkling drinks, beer and soft drinks will be available.
SkinCatering, the spa located in Tower Square, has plans to create a spa in a beautiful window-filled sunroom on site. Guests can choose to be pampered with a mini massage or facial. SkinCatering will have on hand some of their most popular products, including A Touch of Grace, a shimmering, lightly scented body lotion created exclusively for Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Maureen Sullivan and Leanne Sedlak, SkinCatering founder.
A unique chance to create your own custom lipstick can be had at LTW Custom Cosmetics. Founder Lynn Tassinari Wegiel said that women can even name their lipsticks.
In another private sunroom, Estonia, a psychic reader, will offer readings throughout the evening.
Lexie Weege, a young, sassy jazz, blues and alternative singer songwriter, will perform at 5 p.m.
Debbie Wright, the stylist, fashion blogger, radio and TV personality, and founder of Project Closet, along with her lead stylist Trish Eigenbrode, are like a woman’s fashion fairy godmothers. They have assembled models who will show the latest summer styles for office cool, a day at the beach, or hot summer nights. The informal fashion show begins at 7 p.m. and will feature attire from Kate Gray of East Longmeadow, F&F, one of the newest retailers at Holyoke Mall, and Soft Surroundings, located at Evergreen Walk in South Windsor, Conn.
